Ever since we established Kremenak NanoTech, Inc. in 2018, our deep tech startup has thrived due to our dedication and knowledge in material science. We have created a range of patented and patent-pending platform technologies and products by strategically utilizing nanoengineered materials. As an example, Shredder™ cold pasteurization makes use of advanced material science to control microbes in commercial beverage production.

Founder / CEO / CTO
Jesse Kremenak, Ph.D.
After earning his Ph.D. in physics, Dr. Jesse Kremenak recognized the potential in his innovation, Urchin Black™, and founded KNT in 2018. As a polymath, Jesse harnesses the intersections of disparate fields to solve problems. He sets the vision and direction for KNT and leads the technical team in scientific discoveries, innovations, and product development.

AJ Davis, MBA, M.S., CAPM
With a friendship spanning over 20 years, AJ Davis joined Jesse during the founding of KNT in 2018. With an MBA in Entrepreneurship, an M.S. in economics, and extensive project management experience, he oversees the daily operations at KNT and collaborates closely with Jesse on business strategies. Additionally, AJ’s data science expertise is critical to the growth and maintenance of our product and patent portfolios.
Product Manager
Matt Burkhardt
Matt Burkhardt has over 10 years of experience in the brewing industry and joined KNT after piloting the Shredder while he was the Master Brewer at Public House Brewing Company. Matt holds degrees from the University of Northern Iowa, the prestigious Siebel Institute of Chicago, and the Doemans Academy of Munich, Germany. His leadership and managerial experience have equipped him with a deep understanding of business operations and the ability to grow and lead diverse teams.
R&D Manager
Chris Babayco, Ph.D.
Dr. Chris Babayco holds a doctorate in analytical chemistry from the University of California, Davis, and his research focused on the interaction between molecules and surfaces. Prior to joining KNT, Dr. Babayco served as a faculty member at Columbia College and Southern Oregon University, where he led diverse groups of early career researchers. He brings his unique experiences and expansive scientific knowledge to the development of KNT's commercial products.
Business Operations Manager
Eric Smith, Ph.D.
Dr. Eric Smith draws upon nearly 20 years of experience in fast-paced research and project management environments to deliver effective executive support in diverse domains. He joined KNT after a decade of university faculty appointments, most recently at the University of Arizona. Dr. Smith plays a crucial role in enhancing operational workflows at KNT. In addition to this, he is responsible for managing the company's day-to-day needs, which involves liaising with suppliers, stakeholders, and customers to ensure seamless operations.

Danielle Langdon, MFA
Bringing 16 years of experience in design across diverse industries, along with 11 years as a tenure-track faculty member at Columbia College, Danielle Langdon has demonstrated her ability to translate a company's vision into design solutions that cater to each project's unique requirements. Her extensive experience in overseeing large-scale communication projects and managing teams has equipped her to provide guidance and contribute to decisions that impact KNT's brand and ongoing reputation.
Laboratory Technician
William Andel
Will Andel is a recent Biochemistry graduate and award-winning student researcher from the University of Missouri-Columbia. His 2-year research project in the soft matter engineering laboratory culminated in a multi-departmental collaboration and patent submission. Will's broad research background and formal biochemistry training are critical to serving as KNT's Lab Tech. While he primarily manages our BSL2 microbiology lab, he also provides general laboratory and operational support for KNT.
